Rutgers-Newark

Rutgers University in Newark is one of three campuses of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, a public research university which is one of the 61 members of the Association of American Universities. Rutgers- Newark officially came into existence in 1946, when the New Jersey State Legislature voted to make the University of Newark part of Rutgers University. Established in April of 2008, the Newark Charter School Fund makes grants to support the quality and sustainability of Newark’s charter schools. NCSF is funded and governed by national education foundations and works closely in its grant-making activities with local Newark foundations and stakeholders. NCSF makes grants to charter schools and to nonprofit organizations that support charter schools. NCSF is dedicated to improving Newark’s charter schools and generally to creating a thriving public school sector in Newark that prepares all Newark public school students for college and work.
