Stephen Genzer brings more than 30 years’ experience in public utility law to Saul Ewing where he concentrates his practice on regulatory and rate issues. His clients include water, electric, and gas utilities, whom he represents primarily before the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and state appellate courts. Stephen is the former chair of Saul Ewing’s Energy and Utilities Practice Group.
During his legal career, Stephen has been involved in representing clients or the public interest before and working with governmental agencies. He has been integrally involved in the restructuring of the New Jersey energy industry, and has also played a major role in the regulation of other regulated industries.
Stephen has been actively involved in the New Jersey Bar Association’s Public Utility Law Section, was Chair of that section, and is now a member of its Board of Consulters. In 2001, he served as Co-Chair of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Transition Team. He participates in both formal and informal task forces and working groups affecting or coordinated by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
